The Stash & Colleen D'Agostino kick things into "Overdrive" on new single
Just in time for Valentines Day, "Overdrive" is a song about love", says The Stash frontman Christian Evanko. "More so about how it seems to have been affected in this new era of dating apps and social media likes that we all live in." Continuing, "It was meant to be a subtle rebuke by me to the way our culture has shifted. Wherein I really just wanted to make people ask themselves the question “do I care about the person, or what they can bring to my social media presence.” So when I say it’s a love song yes, it is in fact about love. But, more importantly, it’s a love letter to the way people used to communicate and interact."

"Overdrive is a song that we’ve had for quite some time now," says Christian. "We’ve been sitting on it for a while because it needed that X factor. Having Colleen on this track has been a blast, and I think quite obviously has taken the song to a whole other level. She is such a talented singer and I think her voice really lends itself to the style, and the “Stash” sound."
Colleen, whom spent the majority of her musical career touring the U.S. at festivals like Warped Tour and Summerfest with her rock band The Material, changed things up in 2015 when she transitioned into electronic music and signed with deadmau5's record label mau5trap. Along with the Grammy nominated deadmau5, Colleen co-wrote the now platinum hit "Seeya".
Colleen had this to say about working on "Overdrive", "When I first heard the track, I immediately started to hear melody ideas in my head. I loved what Christian had written already, his vocals sounded great, and I found myself harmonizing with his chorus from the first listen. I think the band and I share a lot in common with our rock background that crosses over into the electro-pop world. The collaboration was a lot of fun, and I think the final product is a catchy pop song with heartfelt lyrics, a chorus that will make you want to dance, and hopefully something that will get stuck in your head too."
