REAL TALK STREAM 'ARRIVALS' EP + INTERVIEW w/ VOCALIST JOEY MILEWSKI
DSC01578.jpg

1) How did Real Talk come about?
I played shows as an acoustic act in the New England area because I had no other friends to play in a band with (haha). I met Stephen at a show in Hartford. We kept in touch and the rest is history

2) How did you come up with the name Real Talk?
I have no idea, but I'm sure Stephen does. Can someone ask and please report back?

3) What inspired you to play music and want to join a band?
Jimmy Page’s solo in “Stairway to Heaven”. I loved that so much I bought the action figure.

4) Was there a certain moment in your life that stood out to you that made you fall in love with music?
My mom took me to the Gigantour in 2008 to see Megadeth and Children of Bodom. That pretty much did it for me.

5) 'Arrivals' is the title of the new Real Talk EP. Can you tell us why you chose that name and what it means to you guys?
It’s a reference to my Grandmother who passed away recently. Her funeral was on my 22nd birthday.
There’s a whole story about “Arrivals” and an inside joke with my family - I will just leave it at that. The title track is a love song to her.

6) What makes the 'Arrivals' EP special? Why should people listen to it?
We put everything we had into "Arrivals" . We wrote, demoed, and recorded the 4 tracks and then we tore apart, re-wrote, re-recorded them again multiple times to make sure it was exactly what we wanted. Each chorus, verse, bridge, and intro was written and recorded so deliberately. We hope the this translates into our listener's ears. You'll find mix of nostalgic and fresh sounds that balance & compliment each other nicely. The entirety of "Arrivals" is just a lot of fun I think.

7) What was the first album you bought, and do you still love that album?
Eiffel 65’s Europop. I want to say yes, but I have a feeling if I went back to it I would be highly disappointed.

8) Burritos or Pizza? If you could only choose one, which would it be?
Sushi

9) Favorite way to pass time on a long van drive?
Podcasts and/or van moshing.

10) What do you want kids/fans to know about Real Talk?
At midnight every night we all gather around and unwillingly listen to “St. Anger” by Metallica

-----------------------------------------------------------

The EP will also be released on limited edition vinyl on July 13.

Forming from all corners of Los Angeles' inner city, SLOWTRIP is made up of L.A. natives and hardcore stalwarts Alfredo “Tank” Pedrozo (still active in Rotting Out), Martin Alcedo (ex-No Bragging Rights), John Alaimo (ex-The Greenery), and Dan Mayo (ex-The Greenery).

Upcoming shows:

JUN 2- Dipiazzas (Long Beach, CA)
JUN 13- Tiki Bar (Costa Mesa, CA) w/ Eye the Realist // IntheBackground // Like Adults

Though the members of SLOWTRIP all came from hardcore backgrounds, the band takes on a new identity as the combined influences of grunge, shoegaze and stoner rock infiltrate the band's new sound. Self-described as “L.A. Crunch Rock”.

SLOWTRIP formed in the Spring of 2017 as members of each band reached out to each other with aspirations of continuing their musical journey. Spending most of the remaining 2017 year writing and demoing songs; SLOWTRIP confided in Anchor Eighty Four Records as a partner in releasing new music under the newly minted band moniker.

SLOWTRIP entered the studio with Scott Goodrich (Culture Abuse, Southpaw, TSSF) at Nu Tone Studios to record their debut EP, Blur, which was mastered by Mike Kalajian (Saosin, Moose Blood, The Plot In You).

What others are saying about Slowtrip:

"There’s a delicious hard crunch to the quartet’s leaden, harmonized guitars, and, playing the loud/soft dynamic adroitly, their second single “Follow” whiplashes you back to the ’90s."- Buzzbands.la

"Slowtrip's songwriting is a hazy, dream-like burst of melodic rock more in line w/ sugary grunge and shoegaze (grunge-gaze?) than anything remotely mosh."- No Echo

2nd Pressing - GRAYSCALE, "What We're Missing" LP
Vinyl LP_Baby Blue 3.jpg

Produced by Gary Cioffi (Transit, Misser, A Will Away), Mixed by Phil Dubnick (Transit), and Mastered by Brian Gardner (The Story So Far, Teagan & Sara, Kendrick Lamar); WWM is the album that started it all for Grayscale. Seeing them open for huge headliners, touring the country, and eventually landing a spot on the Fearless Records roster. This classic album is a must have for any Grayscale fan. THE TRADITIONAL RELEASE b-side song "220" FOR HURRICANE RELIEF

A message from The Traditional:

Hey guys. We really felt that we needed to try and do something to help the people who were affected by the recent hurricanes. People are still in need of help, and it's going to take a lot of time and resources to rebuild communities. Through touring, we have made a ton of friends throughout the years, some of whom live in Houston and Florida. Some of our family members have also relocated to these areas in recent years. We are releasing a B-side from 'The Queen of Heaven' called "220" and we are donating the proceeds to help all of the victims of these storms. Cody at Anchor Eighty Four and the four of us are really excited for you to hear this song and we are VERY excited to be able to do something to help. "220" is available for $1 or "Pay more if you want" on Bandcamp. Thank you all for your support. You guys are the best!
